Brian Heyburn is a writer and photographer based in Chicago, IL. He holds a Ph.D. in Disability Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he also completed a Master's of Science in Disability and Human Development. His research focused on the relationships between articulations of identity, embodiment and political perspectives of activists with Cerebral Palsy in life writing. His professional experience is in the production of disability cultural programming in higher education and community settings. His artistic practice centers around exploring lived experience of disability in photography and creative writing.
