Joe Was

Joe Was is a Talent Acquisition Partner at Giant Eagle. He has been committed to serving the Pittsburgh community for well over 20 years, spending over the past decade in human resources. Joe is passionate about the disability community and has served as the past President Emeriti of the Abilities Business Resource Group at Giant Eagle and served as the President for over 1.5 years prior. Joe has been instrumental in fostering a culture of belonging for team members with disabilities and improving accommodations within the workplace such as completing barrier walks to identify opportunities in the organization. He is an active member of Little People of America, currently serving on the employment committee, where he is dedicated to supporting those with dwarfism by raising awareness and breaking down stereotypes within the workplace. He has presented employment workshops for all members of the little people community.
